What a year! 2025 felt like the moment everything clicked: the year MediaViz AI truly found its voice, grew its team, expanded its reach, and released the most ambitious product updates to date. As a startup, you always hope for a year like this. We’re grateful that we got to build one.
Before we jump into 2026, here’s a look back at the milestones that shaped the past twelve months.
A Year of Team Growth and Big Thinking
We grew our team this year, bringing on new product, engineering, and go-to-market talent who immediately raised the bar. With more hands and more expertise, we were able to move faster, tackle harder problems, and support new enterprise conversations.
Every startup says their team is special. We’ll just say this: 2025 would not have been possible without the people building MediaViz every day. Please join us in welcoming CJ as COO, Beth as Product Manager, Steven as Platform Engineer, and Allison as QA Engineer!
A Rebrand That Matches Who We’ve Become
In early spring, we reintroduced MediaViz to the world with a new brand and a new website, something we had been quietly building toward for months.
The goal wasn’t just a new look. It was to clearly communicate what we actually are: a data company helping businesses turn visual media into something meaningful. The response from our partners and prospects has been incredible, and we’ve watched our new site quickly become one of our top drivers of visibility and interest.
We also launched the MediaViz Monthly newsletter, which has grown into a fun way to share updates, insights, and everything happening behind the scenes. (Not subscribed? Sign up here!)
Product & Technology: We Shipped A Lot
In 2025, our product work was all about removing friction, making MediaViz faster, more accurate, and better suited for the real-world scale our partners operate in.
Our spring release set the tone with a major leap in speed, quality, and intelligence that allowed customers to process large collections with human-centric accuracy and far less effort. From there, we spent the summer refining reliability, sharpening how the AI evaluates images, improving Similarity Detection, and making it easier to work with large sets of IDs and metadata. These updates quietly powered smoother, more dependable workflows for teams counting on MediaViz every day.
By fall, we focused on scale. We rebuilt core parts of our infrastructure so the platform could automatically handle surges, hundreds of simultaneous users, and collections well beyond 200,000 images. The result: consistent performance no matter how big the project.
We closed out the year by strengthening the quality and portability of our data from improved export options to person-based metadata to more reliable write-back.
Every update in 2025 made MediaViz a faster, smarter, more scalable foundation for anyone building media-rich products and workflows.
A Big Milestone: Our New Video Patent
One of the biggest moments of 2025 came late in the year when we secured a new patent in video. This was a huge accomplishment for our team, not just because of the patent itself, but because of what it represents for the future of MediaViz.
For years, we’ve focused on making sense of large, complex photo collections. But the world is moving quickly toward richer, more dynamic visual media, and our partners are already thinking about how to bring intelligence to video at scale. This patent marks our first major step into that space. It gives us a foundation to build on as we expand beyond still images and move toward multimodal media intelligence.
This is just the beginning. We already have additional patents in the pipeline for 2026, each one strengthening the technology that powers our API and opening new doors for the companies building on top of MediaViz.

Showing Up In The Industry
2025 was also the year we got out into the world and met the people building the future of media. We attended events, hosted demos, and had some of our best conversations yet at Visual 1st, DMLA, IDMLC, CEPIC, and more. The amount of enthusiasm and curiosity around what we’re building has fueled us all year long.
Whether we were talking with DAM leaders, photo printers, stock agencies, sports organizations, or tourism brands, one thing became clear: every industry is looking for ways to do more with the images they already have… to organize them, understand them, and turn them into better products and experiences.
Looking Ahead to 2026
We’re heading into the new year with a stronger brand, a sharper team, and an API that’s more powerful and more flexible than anything we’ve built before. We’ve added patent-backed technology, expanded our relationships across industries, and grown a community of partners who are just as excited about the future of media intelligence as we are.
Most importantly, we’re entering 2026 with clarity about who we are, what we’re building, and the kind of value we want to deliver. The work we did this year set the foundation for everything that comes next, from deeper integrations to more advanced models to entirely new ways of helping businesses use their visual media in meaningful, insightful ways.
We can’t wait to keep building alongside all of you, and to welcome new partners who see the potential in turning images into something more actionable. Here’s to everything we accomplished in 2025 and to an even bigger, brighter 2026!
