MediaViz AI Technology Updates

Welcome to our update roundup! Here’s what’s new with MediaViz.

    October 2025

    Enhanced Data Export Options
MediaViz API now supports expanded output formats for data export, allowing partners to retrieve structured image analysis results (including clarity, keyword confidence, and quality ranking) in both CSV and XLSX formats. This aligns API exports with the new app data structure for easier cross-compatibility and testing.

    Personhood Data in API Output
Following the launch of the Personhood feature in the app, the API now supports retrieval and writing of person-based metadata. Customers integrating face recognition capabilities can access:

    • Assigned person names (when available)

    • Propagation of identified faces across image sets

    • Group and individual person references

    Improved Similarity Data Access
API responses now include updated similar photo references, providing file names and identifiers of related images within the same collection. This allows partners to build automated culling, deduplication, or versioning workflows using MediaViz’s similarity model data.

    Keyword Confidence Thresholds
Top keywords in API outputs now reflect confidence values above 90%, matching the app’s keyword ranking logic. Partners can adjust thresholds via configuration parameters in their API implementation.

    Metadata Write-Back Improvements
Improved handling for writing metadata to files when source locations have changed. This enhancement prevents interruptions in automated pipelines and ensures successful round-trip metadata writes for enterprise users managing large collections.

MediaViz AI Just Got Faster, Smarter, and Ready to Scale

We’ve completed a major infrastructure upgrade that makes MediaViz AI faster, more responsive, and ready for growing demand. As more customers upload larger collections and use the platform simultaneously, we saw an opportunity to evolve our system to scale seamlessly with real-world usage.

Our platform now adapts automatically, spinning up resources when uploads surge and scaling back down when demand eases. This means we can support projects of up to 200,000 images per user, handle hundreds of users uploading at once, and deliver consistent performance without delays.

For you, this translates to faster turnaround times, reliable performance at any scale, and the same high-quality AI insights, delivered more efficiently than ever.

Faster Access to Large Photo Lists with Paginated Bulk Recall

We’ve added support for paginated bulk recall to API endpoints that return large sets of photo IDs. This update allows you to retrieve photo data in manageable “pages” rather than one massive response — making it easier, faster, and more stable to work with large collections.

    December 2024

We’re thrilled to announce some significant improvements to your MediaViz experience! These updates are designed to make managing, organizing, and curating the media your business works with faster and easier than ever:

    Enhanced Photo Management

    • Find Duplicates Easily: Tired of cluttered libraries? Now, both our web app and file utility can identify and group similar photos. Easily view photos with low, medium, and high levels of similarity and bulk-delete duplicates to keep your collections clean and organized.
    • Organized by Date: Your photos are now automatically organized by their original date taken. This means you can effortlessly browse and manage your collection by month and year. Photos without a date? No worries — they’ll be grouped under an “Unknown Date” category for easy access.
    • Improved Sorting: Quickly find the photos you need with default descending order sorting. Want a different view? Switch between ascending and descending sort orders with a single click.
    • Full-Screen Viewing: Immerse yourself in your photos with new full-screen support for both horizontal and vertical images. Enjoy a clearer, distraction-free experience when viewing details.

    Bug Fixes

    • Windows Shortcut Resolved: We’ve fixed the shortcut issue for the file utility on Windows. You can now easily access the utility by searching for “MediaViz File Utility” in your Windows search bar — making your workflow smoother.
